The gospel of Matthew brings before us "The Kingdom of Heaven," or the rule of
the Heavens over this earth. You will find Jesus presented as King, the one who
fulfills Scripture, the Messiah. Of the increase of His kingdom there shall be
no end! Mark presents the Lord Jesus Christ as the servant of God and the
servant of men. Mark records the call from Christ to followers who would serve
Him, and the command of Christ to go and preach. Luke portrays Jesus as the
perfect man and uses the term "Son of man." Luke also shows that Jesus is not
only a perfect human but the divine Son of God. The key verse of this gospel
written by John is found in John 20:31. "But these are written, that you
might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing
you might have life through His name." And this is eternal life, that you might
know Him, the only true God, Jesus Christ.
